Dr Michelle Olver is an accredited menopause specialist, certified by the British Menopause Society and Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health.
She holds the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care issued by the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. She is a recognised trainer in menopause care and has trained numerous health care professionals throughout the United Kingdom.
Alongside her clinical work, she holds an honorary lecturer title for Cardiff University where she lectures on sexual health and the menopause.
NEW CONSULTATIONS
The first appointment is a 40 minute consultation which can be conducted in person at St Joseph’s Hospital or Spire Hospital Cardiff. Remote consultations can be conducted via telephone or video link. The initial consultation will involve taking a detailed history and examination (if indicated) and discuss an individualised treatment plan. You will receive two copies of the clinic letter summarising the consultation and where relevant the proposed treatment plan. This will allow you to inform your GP of the consultation, should you wish to. If needed, a private prescription can be provided.
FOLLOW UP CONSULTATIONS
The follow up appointment is a 20 minute consultation which can be conducted in person at St Joseph’s Hospital or Spire Hospital Cardiff. Remote consultations are also available via telephone or video link.
COST OF CONSULTATIONS
New Consultation Fee - £250
Follow up Consultation Fee - £150
Both hospitals charge an additional separate fee for procedures and drugs
OTHER PROCEDURES
- IUS or IUD (coil) insertion
- IUS or IUD (coil) removal
- Nexplanon (implant) insertion
- Nexplanon (implant) removal
- Sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment
- HRT implant (Oestradiol and Testosterone) insertion
Costings of the above are available on request via secretary or treating hospital.
REPEAT PRIVATE PRESCRIPTIONS
Private prescription requests will only be fulfilled if you have been reviewed in the clinic in the last 12 months.
Repeat prescriptions without an appointment carry a £40 administration fee. Oral HRT requests will require an up to date height, weight and blood pressure.
